Please read the following and choose the answers that best describe yourself. This is a journey into the realistic level of your communication excellence:
Presentation confidence...
I feel that there is always someone else who is better equipped to stand center stage or at the podium and present materials.
I feel confident until the presentation and then my fear triggers overcome my sense of ability to deliver well.
I seize up at just the thought of making a speech in front of an audience.
When the situation is right and it is a good day I feel like I can knock it out of the park. But sadly, those days are few and far between.
I have never had a problem with presenting. I often experience nerves beforehand but as long as my thoughts are gathered I feel confident.
I actually feel small when I make presentations.
I feel presentations are my greatest strengths.
I feel empowered when I stand up on stage influencing a group.
I will do anything to avoid making presentations.
I feel that no one in the room is taking me seriously in my presentations.
I have no idea on how to address a microphone effectively.
I am overly sensitive to the undercurrent of reactions in the room while I present.

And then there is my voice....
I have always been told that my voice wasn’t particularly pretty.
I am sick and tired of feeling that my voice fails me in presenting.
I find it difficult to project my voice without becoming hoarse.
I feel that I don’t have the depth or control of my vocal sound that inspires confidence in others.
My voice squeaks. I have been told to look for help in developing my voice but I don’t know what that entails.
I keep feeling the need to constantly clear my throat.
I just want to get this over with before I start to feel hoarse.
The feedback that I receive is that my voice is pitched too high.
I often have things to contribute but I don’t say them because I don’t like the sound of my own voice.
I feel that my voice does not convey the authority it needs to gain respect from others in the room.

How confident are you with your “look”......
I would rather have someone else pick out my clothes for me.
Finding the middle ground in dressing down is really difficult. It is stressful to me.
I often feel uncomfortable in my body with everything that I wear.
Worrying about my “look” is something that I never have to deal with as I am comfortable in everything that I wear.
I am confident in my own abilities. People should be able to see past what I wear.
I don’t care how I look. It’s what I say that matters.
I am so nervous all the time in important meetings and presentations that I tend to sweat through my clothes to an embarrassing level.
I want to develop an image that says “I’m in charge!”
